Why does my kit look slightly different from the photos?

Many of our products contain natural materials such as sage bundles, Palo Santo sticks, abalone shells, crystals, stones and feathers. These items naturally vary in size, shape, colour, texture, markings and finish.

Small differences are expected and are part of working with real natural materials.

Are the sage bundles handmade?

Our white sage bundles are hand-tied. Natural sage leaves are gathered into compact bundles and wrapped with thread so they hold their shape as they dry.

Because they are hand-finished, each bundle may vary slightly in shape, density and colour.

How do I use a sage bundle or Palo Santo stick?

Light the tip carefully, allow it to catch briefly, then gently blow out the flame so it smoulders. Hold it over a suitable heat-resistant dish, shell or bowl to catch ash.

Can I use the kit without crystals?

Yes. Some kits include crystals or stones, and some do not. Smudging rituals can be kept very simple with just sage, Palo Santo and a safe heat-resistant dish.

Crystals and other personal items can be added if they feel meaningful to you, but they are not required.

What is Palo Santo?

Palo Santo is a naturally aromatic wood often used in home fragrance, meditation and cleansing rituals. It has a warm, woody scent and can be used on its own or alongside sage.

As with all natural wood, each stick may vary slightly in grain, colour, thickness and scent strength.

Can I burn sage or Palo Santo indoors?

Yes, but only with care. Use in a well-ventilated space and avoid inhaling smoke directly. Keep burning or smouldering materials away from children, pets, curtains, bedding, soft furnishings and draughts.

Never leave smouldering materials unattended, even for a moment.

Can I use the abalone shell for burning?

Abalone shells are commonly used as part of smudging rituals, but they are still natural shells and can become hot during use.

Always place the shell on a heat-resistant surface and avoid holding it directly while burning materials are inside or resting on it.

How do I extinguish sage or Palo Santo?

Press the burning end into sand, ash or another heat-safe surface until fully extinguished. Check carefully before storing, discarding or leaving the room.

Do not put a warm or smoking item back into packaging.

Are these products safe around pets?

Smoke and fragrance can affect animals, especially birds, cats, dogs and small pets. Keep pets away while burning sage or Palo Santo, use good ventilation, and never burn products near cages, bedding, food bowls or enclosed pet areas.

If in doubt, do not burn around pets.

Are your products intended for medical use?

No. NeverBetterCo products are sold for home fragrance, meditation, relaxation, decorative and ritual use.

They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition.

How should I store my kit?

Store sage, Palo Santo and other natural materials in a cool, dry place away from moisture.

Selenite should be kept dry, as it is a softer mineral and can be damaged by water.
